It is a 1979 model. it says so on the metal plate in the engine bay…

I am confused. I owned a 79 Corolla and it didn’t look like this one. In the States this one was an 80 Corolla or newer. So have you got the year wrong or did this model come from somewhere where the newer body style was introduced earlier than in the States?
