@dobadriver toyota is offering 5 million dollars to whoever finds a defect in the electrical or pedal. i suppose if you are claiming this to be true then you should claim your 5 million$ reward… because no one has claimed it yet.. i don’t know why you are taking it out on toyota so hard on a toyota video meant for toyota consumers. no one is going to listen to what you have to say. its like someone going to an american car video and talking smack to it are you going to be listening to it>?

It pissed me off enough when people were dying because of the Ford and Firestone fiasco and now people have the audacity to say that electronic problems effecting gas pedal and steering of Toyotas is blown out of proportion? Peoples lives are nothing to ignore. Remember the recall(over a million) where Toyota seatbelts caught on fire and burned people? Most people didn’t get burned but it sounds like a very shady company to me. Yeah, lets ignore the ignorance of a Auto company.Very smart

Toyota Recalled over a million for rust! Extended warranties on thousands for the same problem. NO COMPANY HAS EVER shut down production due to recalls… ever. Most companies that have had huge recalls have figured is out in about 5 years. Toyota has kept it secret for 7-10 yrs and are now recalling. Say what you want, if you think a company that can’t even keep metal from rusting can make proper vehicles is the best company out there then I feel sorry for you. Blown out of proportion… BS

@trousien
Its an electrical problem. It has nothing to do with the sticky floor mat. People aren’t that f*ckin stupid that they would kill their whole family because they couldn’t figure that out. Give humanity some credit man! What do you have to say about the Toyota Corollas that the driver loses steering control completely when driving on a freeway or highway? There is proof of Toyota knowing about these problems then gloating about how stupid people were not to put things together.

well the problem was exagerated by the media, its like with tiger woods, it better to destroy somebody’s good reputation, than keep attacking someone who is dirty already

@dobadriver
if your going to talk about reliability i think its safe to say toyota is a good company that is responsible enough to announce defeat and recall their cars to fix them.. its a minor issue with a sticky gas pedal and a potenially dangerous floor mat for god sakes… its so easy to prevent these problems yourself if you actually know how to drive.. companies learn from their mistakes and we can assume toyota will make better cars after this. i hate people who bad mouth good companies

@trousien
Like I said, they have some pretty good parts like their turbos. Their cars sucked a lot for reliablility and their 3L V6’s were terrible. I know the Dodge Stealth was bitched about a lot because the engine couldn’t stand up. It doesn’t matter if they can make good rally cars, that has nothing to do with reliability or quality. The price of a car, speed, power and handling doesn’t come in to play when your talking reliability. I’m sure you know that though.
trousien says:

@dobadriver i would never say mitsubishi sucks because of their 3000 gt and Evos are amazing cars plus they dominated the rally scene for a while
dobadriver says:
March 3rd, 2010 at 7:03 pm
@trousien
I agree that the electrical sucks in some brands. If you ask any Chrysler buyer who owned a Chrysler with the mitsubishi 3L they will tell you it was the worst engine that Chrysler ever had. They didn’t use Mitsubishi parts much longer after that. I think they do have some good turbos and what not but they suck for the most part. If you look at statistics. Most men buy trucks and American vehicles here whereas women tend to look more towards foreign markets. Those are variables.

@emeraldFloyd
Japanese cars had the same problem. They have a model only sold in japan where they changed the pedal and in the US they only changed the mats. Sounds like a cover up by Toyota to me.
trousien says:
March 3rd, 2010 at 7:40 pm
@dobadriver females buy european cars more than they do get japanese cars and most fan boy, mechanic, and ehthusiast i know would get a jap car over any american… but european ones are very nice its just their electrical really sucks and their parts are ridiculously overpriced.. jap cars have more aftermarket products than the us and europe combined… that says it all.. and by the way chrysler were partners with mitsubishi and had had the some engines in their cars
emeraldFloyd says:
March 3rd, 2010 at 8:29 pm
sigh, have you heard of sabotage? There is only issues with it in american but not in japan? Yeah…something fishy.
dobadriver says:

@ GOMBPRODUXIONS as well
Imo, and it is my opinion, If a company can’t even solve a simple rusting problem, then how in the world do you think they could make a good vehicle? These people IGNORED the deaths of hundreds. After everything is said and done, the media wanted to make foreign vehicles seem better then American even though they are just as good, if not worse. I bet If I told you a Dodge/Chrysler Neon is more reliable then a Lamborghini Gallardo you would think I’m crazy.
dobadriver says:
March 3rd, 2010 at 9:42 pm
Im sorry, My family has owned Chryslers my whole life. They have never had constant problems. There are many variables to look at when owning a car. Most people that don’t know much about cars will buy what people tell them to buy. Thats why Honda and Toyota have a larger female market then American companies do. Im not saying anyting bad towards women, but men know more about vehicles so chances are they will complain about the smallest problems while women ignroe them.
dobadriver says:

So? I think the US gov’t has more to deal with then a car company. Shouldn’t Toyota have been the first to step in and fix things?

I’ve never owned a Toyota but do think that the Feds coming in like Elliot Ness is ridiculous. Yes — do not deny any problems you have had and fix them. If they do not go away then let the market place take over and reasonable people will naturally buy a safe reliable vehicle, even if that means switching brands. Competition has finally forced American producers to put out a quality product. I love my Chevy HHR — but wish they weren’t bought out

GOMBPRODUXIONS says:
March 4th, 2010 at 1:31 am
so you would rather want a car that constantly has problems running rather than a little rust on the rear quarter panels? whatever you say. i guess people are entitled to their own opinion…

@ dobadriver
Did you know that the US government had an idea of all of these problems back in 2004 but they didn’t do stock shit about it? So many have died cause of government officials high fiving each other.
