You can’t stop watching the hybrid car’s instant fuel economy bar graph. In the 2010 Prius, this graph has moved from the navigation screen to the dash-top instrument panel, so playing the Prius mpg game doesn’t force you to take your eyes far from the road ahead. It’s fun in a way that Jeff Jarvis, the author of What Would Google Do?, would surely understand.

If you’re looking for a fuel efficient car to save money, I’ll tell you the best new car sleeper deal on the market, the 2010 Hyundai Accent “Blue” model. Get the manual transmission with no a/c (if you can live without a/c, up here in Chicago that’s pretty easy). I got mine for $9,100, $11,000 after taxes and fees. I’m getting 40 mpg in city driving, no highway miles. I imagine once I do get on the highway I’ll be getting 45 mpg+.

The Prius sold 11 thousand units in the U.S. in March 2010. The only hatchback that sold more was the Nissan Versa, at 13 thousand. Glad to see Toyota coming back.
And Toyota built a plant in Mississippi to crank ‘em out for 2011 and beyond, which means U.S. jobs.

@MegaMaster456 How do you figure that? Fuel economy 34/45 vs. 48/51 Prius. Cost $28k vs. $22k Prius. 5% more interior space Fusion, nearly double the cargo area Prius. Prius manufactered in US. Fusion, Mexico. Slightly faster acceleration Fusion. Years on market, Prius. Why spend 27% more on a hybrid to get 30% less fuel economy?

I think you’re a little unclear on the definition of “smut.” Are you making the argument that porn is generated during the process of assembling a Prius?

First off nitwit, nobody’s going to believe anyone that spews out technical information when they can’t even spell commonly used words like comparison and comprehension. Furthermore, your figure of 113 million BTUs is bull, just like your previous witty comment on 584 pounds of nuclear waste you made. I see you dropped the word nuclear now, why, cause it sounds silly, doesn’t it? Fail. Electric powered cars will be quite common soon, despite dinosaurs like you putting them down based on B.S.

@dortmundpls Making a Prius consumes 113 million BTUs, for most part due too production of the prius battery A single gallon of gas contains about 113,000-115,000 Btus, so Toyota’s green wonder guzzles the equivalent of 1,000 gallons before it clocks its first mile. the 584 pounds of waste was a simile i.e. making a comparason, perhaps beyond your comprhension

March 17, 9:03 p.m. – The NewYork Prius investigation preliminary results are in – and……brake is 0% accelerator pedal 99.9% – The local Sheriff has all the details and copies of the investigators evidence. He seems rather unimpressed that there is not more to the story according to witnesses of the investigation
